Dr. M. Bud Lateef, MD, is a pain management physician who specializes in treating chronic pain disorders.

A native of Texas, Dr. Lateef attended both the University of Texas McGovern Medical School at Houston and Saba University Medical School. Dr. Lateef completed a Residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), then completed an Interventional Pain Management Fellowship in the Department of Anesthesiology also at UPMC. After completing his training, Dr. Lateef founded a pain management practice with several locations which was later acquired by Premier Medical Associates, the physician group practice division of Highmark Blue Cross / Blue Shield in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. From 2014 to 2018, Dr. Lateef led the pain management division for Premier Medical, the largest multi-specialty group practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

As a Board-Certified physician in pain medicine, Dr. Lateef offers the most advanced and comprehensive pain management services at DrNewMed. Having performed over 10,000 procedures, Dr. Lateef will offer treatments such as nerve blocks, epidurals, rhizotomies, and implanted devices to treat chronic pain, as well as, alternative treatments for pain with a focus on wellness and prevention.

Dr. Lateef is also committed on efforts to reduce prescription drug abuse. He is the Founder of LOCKMED, a Pittsburgh-based medical product company which manufacturers home medication lockboxes to safeguard prescription drugs for high risk families. During his spare time, Dr. Lateef enjoys golfing and writing. He was a team physician for the 107th US Open Golf Tournament in Oakmont, PA.
