Dr. Shakeel Khan, MD, FACC, is a renowned cardiologist certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, and endovascular (peripheral) medicine. He is also certified in adult comprehensive echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography and the American Board of Nuclear Cardiology. He is fellowship-trained in cardiology and interventional cardiology. His expertise and commitment to excellence is an invaluable asset to the DrNewMed team.

Dr. Khan graduated from the National Degree College in Bangalore, India, and earned his medical degree from the Al-Ameen Medical School in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. Soon after completing an internship at St. John's Medical College Hospital, Bangalore, Dr. Khan relocated to the United States to continue his medical training at Michigan State University. He served as the chief medical resident at the McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, Michigan, after completing an internship in internal medicine.

After his residency, Dr. Khan subspecialized his training with two fellowships. He earned one in cardiology at the University of Michigan's East Lansing campus and another in interventional cardiology at the university's Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.

Dr. Khan is quite popular in the cardiology community; He is a managing partner at Phoenix Heart and has previously served as the director of the cardiac catheterization lab at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Arizona.
